Based in Houston, Texas, Mile is a Principal in Deals Strategy, where he helps energy companies discover and execute deal opportunities. He’s also a parent and has a passion for learning, teaching and volunteering. Along with his involvement in Minds Matter, Mile facilitates learning and development for his team at PwC, “I believe that the best way to influence people is directly and on an individual basis. Creating a meaningful personal experience for one person will have a network effect as that person does the same for another person and so on. I have a real passion for enabling learning and helping people reach their full potential.”  Mile attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania for his MBA.

Aaron Durden is the Managing Director of and a Financial Advisor for LifeBridge Financial Group. Aaron, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University, has 13+ years as a Financial Advisor. He earned a Masters of Business Administration degree with a focus in Personal Financial Planning in 2007. Aaron successfully sat for the Certified Financial Planner™ exam in March of 2017 and finalized the certification in April of 2017. Aaron concentrates on helping clients develop comprehensive financial plans as he identified a need to connect the various aspects of a client's financial life with one another. Coming from a family of educators and personally valuing higher education, he is committed to helping others attain their goals through education. He chooses to align with Minds Matter due to the organizations mission of helping students identify their potential, overcome obstacles to success, and make the most of their educational endeavors.

Amar Gujral

Executive Director

Amar is a consultant with the energy deals strategy practice of PwC | Strategy&. Prior to PwC, he was an Associate in the energy group of Guggenheim Partners in New York, and a strategy consultant with PacWest Consulting Partners in Houston. Amar started his career in non-profit work with the Baha’i International Community at the U.N., and has volunteered with other high school mentor programs such as iMentor. Amar holds a dual M.S. degree in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines and Petroleum Economics from the French Institute of Petroleum, and received his B.A. degree in Engineering from Lafayette College.

Omar Ali

Associate Director, Programs

Omar is a performance analyst at EDP Renewables where focuses on wind turbine condition monitoring systems. He is also a Master’s candidate in mechanical engineering where he researches the mechanical properties of lithium-ion battery electrolytes. He has been involved with tutoring high school students ever since he graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics in 2014.

Chris Pecci

Sr. Director, Mentor Programming

Chris Pecci is an IT Manager for Chevron with a passion for technology and education.  His desire and commitment to help aspiring college students achieve their academic and career goals drew him to the Minds Matter Houston programming team.  Chris has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a M.B.A. from Alaska Pacific University.

Ben Townsend, Co-Director of Strategy & Operations

Ben Townsend

Ben is an Investment Banking Analyst at Evercore. Prior to Evercore, he was an Senior M&A Analyst at Halliburton. Prior to Halliburton, Ben received his MS in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He also received his BA in Economics at The University of Texas. His experiences working with Neighborhood Longhorns, RBI Austin, and Side by Side Kids has prepared him for his role with Minds Matter Houston.

Meghan is an Operations Manager for Uber Technologies in Houston. Prior to joining Uber Technologies in 2014, Meghan was a finance and risk analyst at General Electric. As an undergrad, Meghan was involved in tutoring elementary age children in math and reading. Meghan obtained a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Chinese Language and Culture from Wake Forest University.
