A Glimpse into Our Mentor Training

Minds Matter Houston is dedicated to providing exceptional mentorship to our students. To ensure that our mentors are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed, we conduct rigorous training sessions.

Our recent mentor training was led by our esteemed Director of Volunteer Recruitment and Retention, Laura Escobar. The 2.5-hour session was packed with valuable insights and practical guidance. A total of 19 volunteers, both new and returning, participated in the training, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to our mission.

During the training, mentors learned about the intricacies of our program structure, including the curriculum, expectations, and goals. They also gained a deep understanding of compliance procedures and how to effectively use our technology platforms.

One of the highlights of the training was the opportunity for mentors to connect with one another and build a strong sense of community. Through engaging activities, they honed their mentoring skills and learned from each other's experiences.
