A Year of Growth and Discovery

Minds Matter Houston, (partial) Class of 2026 Students and Mentors

The Minds Matter Houston Junior Class of 2026 has embarked on a year of exciting growth and exploration. Through a series of engaging workshops, our students are developing the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in high school and beyond.

Setting the Stage for Success: SMART Goals

To kick off the year, our students learned the importance of setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) goals. By defining clear objectives and breaking them down into actionable steps, our students are better equipped to stay focused and motivated.

Exploring Career Paths and College Options

Our career exploration workshops have ignited students' curiosity about various fields and industries. By reflecting on their interests and values, students are beginning to envision their future paths. They've also learned about the importance of researching colleges and universities that align with their academic and personal goals.

Summer Program Preparation

A crucial aspect of our junior year program is summer planning. Our students are actively exploring a variety of summer programs to enhance their academic and personal development. From STEM camps to language immersion programs, our students are encouraged to travel internationally. They have the opportunity to gain valuable experiences and strengthen their college applications.

Building Essential Life Skills

Beyond academics, we recognize the importance of developing strong emotional intelligence. Our workshops have focused on self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. By cultivating these skills, our students will be better prepared to navigate challenges and build positive relationships.

As the year progresses, our Junior Class will continue to grow and develop. We're excited to see the impact of these workshops and look forward to supporting our students on their journey to success.
