Role Title: Student Alumni Lead

Reports to: Executive Director

Team: Extended Leadership Team (XLT)

Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week, preferred minimum 2-year commitment given that this role will be launching a new initiative within the organization

Summary & Responsibilities

Minds Matter Houston is seeking a passionate and strategic volunteer to serve as our Alumni Lead. In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Director to frame, develop, and launch a robust alumni program that keeps our graduates connected and supported as lifelong members of the Minds Matter community. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of alumni engagement and build a sustainable program from the ground up.

Core Responsibilities include: 

  • Design and implement a structured alumni engagement program with a phased 3–5 year roadmap

  • Lead the launch of the alumni program, including communication, events, and pilot initiatives

  • Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of volunteers to support alumni engagement goals

  • Foster meaningful relationships with Minds Matter Houston alumni to gather input and promote participation

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and other teams to integrate alumni support into broader organizational strategies

  • Track engagement metrics and continuously improve programming based on feedback and results
