Community Engagement Manager 

Role Title: Community Engagement (Social Media) Manager 

Reports to: Marketing Lead

Team: Extended Leadership Team (XLT)

Time Commitment: 5 hours per week

Summary & Responsibilities

The Community Engagement Manager will support the marketing director to develop and execute our social media strategy, with a primary focus on LinkedIn for engaging donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community leaders. This role will also manage our presence on secondary channels, Instagram and Facebook, to broaden awareness and connect with a wider audience. The Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for creating compelling content, building our online community, driving engagement, and ultimately supporting our fundraising and volunteer recruitment goals.

Core Responsibilities include: 

  • Follow content calendars and ensure timely and consistent posting across all channels.

  • Develop engaging and informative content, including text posts, images, videos, articles, and stories, specifically optimized for LinkedIn's professional audience.

  • Source and curate relevant content from thought leaders, partners, and the education sector.

  • Ensure all content aligns with Minds Matter Houston's brand voice and guidelines.

  • Experience managing social media channels - LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.

  • Excellent editing/curating skills, to create engaging and compelling content with the help of AI tools.

  • Strong visual storytelling skills and experience with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva).

  • Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
