Time Commitment: 1 hour per week

Summary & Responsibilities
The Mentor Engagement Lead will support mentor retention and satisfaction across the Minds Matter Houston community by fostering strong mentor-mentor and mentor-student relationships. This role plays a critical part in ensuring mentors feel connected, prepared, and appreciated, ultimately leading to better student outcomes and a more engaged volunteer base.
This individual will spearhead initiatives to build community, track engagement metrics, and identify early signs of disengagement to intervene and retain mentors.
Core Responsibilities include:
Tracking mentor attendance, responsiveness, and engagement levels using MMH data systems or surveys
Collaborating with the Volunteer Recruitment Lead to understand mentor needs and improve onboarding processes.
Developing and distributing feedback surveys to gather insights from mentors and identify opportunities for support or training
You’ll Be a Good Fit If You:
Have experience coordinating events, managing volunteers, or building community engagement programs
Are proactive in identifying challenges and solutions when it comes to volunteer experience and retention
Are comfortable working with data (even simple spreadsheets) to identify trends and gaps in engagement
Want to volunteer with a mission-drive organization making an impact in the lives of Houston-area high school students
Are prepared to take on a volunteer leadership role on a growing team
Have great organizational and time management skills
