Summary & Responsibilities
The Social Chair will support community building and volunteer retention at Minds Matter Houston by organizing events that foster connection, appreciation, and a sense of belonging among volunteers. This role helps create the positive and cohesive culture that keeps volunteers engaged and energized throughout the program year.
The Social Chair will be responsible for coordinating meaningful gatherings that build relationships, celebrate successes, and reinforce the shared mission of MMH.
Core Responsibilities include:
Plan and execute 3–5 social events per year for volunteers, including informal mixers and the annual year-end celebration
Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, budgeting, food/beverage, and communications
Gather and incorporate feedback from volunteers to improve future events
Ensure events are inclusive, fun, and mission-aligned
