Summary & Responsibilities
The Saturday Session Manager will directly support the Director of Saturday Programs by overseeing the day-of success of MMH’s sessions. In this role, the Manager will serve as the primary MMH representative and in-person point of contact for students, mentors, and pod leads on Saturday mornings through lunch, and may delegate these responsibilities to the Pod Leads for the afternoon Mentoring Session. The Manager will also support weekly session logistics planning and help with program scheduling. The Manager will own the Saturday Session Operations Manual, an evergreen document that will serve as a guide to how Saturday sessions are run (to be developed in cooperation with the Chief of Programming.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as on-site manager and primary point of contact at Saturday sessions with a minimum expected attendance of 75% of sessions
Support Saturday Programs Director with session scheduling and calendars to ensure adequate coverage and room availability
Manage Houston Food Bank partnership by developing and deepening connections with HFB coordinators; reserve rooms at the Houston Food Bank, and order weekly session meals
Serve as logistical lead at Saturday sessions from 9:45 a.m. to noon, handing over to the Pod Leads at the end of Flex Time (and arranging for a substitute Manager if not able to attend)
Track attendance of students and mentors and alert leadership team of any excess absences
Ensure students and volunteers are in assigned rooms/spaces and communicate any last-minute space changes as necessary
Liaise with the HFB team if additional support (tech, food, facilities) is needed
Observe academic and mentoring sessions to provide feedback to the Director as requested
Attend (virtual) weekly Programming meetings to prepare for Saturday sessions
